There is another Carmelite beata: Blessed Maria Teresa of St. Joseph, foundress of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus. Her feast day is October 30 and more information can be found about her at http://www.carmelitedcj.org/foundress.asp
Thank you. I’ll add her name to the list, and start working on a biography. Since her feast day is October 30th, I’ll make sure it’s posted by then.
Another new Carmelite Venerable is Sr. Maria Felicia of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, OCD – also known as “Chiquitunga” She’s like a St. Teresa of the Andes for Paraguay .. her website, http://chiquitunga.jimdo.com/ There are a couple parts of a documentary on her on youtube also .. just search “chiquitunga” there. God bless!
Thank you, I’ve added her name to the Venerables/Servants of God page. I’ll post her bio in the next few months.
There is another Carmelite venerable
Here name is Ven.Teresa Quevedo, she was from Spain and a member of the Carmelite Sisters of Charity which are affiliated with the Carmelite order and she was declared venerable by Pope John Paul 2
There is a book about her titled: MARY WAS HER LIFE by Sister Pierre, RSM it is very rare and hard to find.
Thank you! I’ve added her Name to the list of Venerables. I’ll see what information I can find.
The book you mentioned seems to be available through Our Lady of Victory website – Mary Was Her Life
A very nice biography of her (15 pgs) can also be found in “Profiles in Holiness Vol II” by Fr. Redemptus M. Valabek – ISBN 88-7288-054-8
Teresa is also featured in a book titled: “Modern Day Saints, Their lives and Faces” by Ann Ball
Thank you for posting these feastdays. Our calendar does not have all these recorded.
I was wondering if we could have some sort of notation with each Carmelite Feast day as to whether we are to observe:
Optional Memorial
Memorial
Feast
Solemnity
Also, i’ve noticed these vary according to whether you are in the O’Carm or OCD tradition.
Good idea. Yes – they do occasionally vary. I’ll see if I can put something together. Thank you for the suggestion.
Its a good work. May Mary our patroness pray 4 u.
